RadarView Roadmap: Q1 2026 Update Teaser
Status: In Development
Target Release: Q1 2026
Codename: The Physics Update
🚀 Overview
The upcoming Q1 2026 update marks the most significant technological leap in RadarView's history. I am shifting the project from strictly 2D tracking to real-time flight simulation physics. With the extensive support of AI tools, I have managed to implement complex mathematical models and environmental data processing. RadarView will no longer just display where the plane is, but how it is flying.
✨ Key Features
1. vGlassCockpit (Virtual Glass Cockpit)
A completely new module transforming the aircraft detail view into a live avionics suite, modeled after the Boeing 787 Dreamliner architecture.
- Primary Flight Display (PFD): I have implemented a functional Artificial Horizon, Speed Tape (displaying calculated IAS), Altitude Tape, and Flight Mode Annunciations.
- Navigation Display (ND): Visualizes the aircraft's heading, track, and wind vectors relative to the ground.
- Air Data Computer (ADC): A custom-built backend engine that combines ADS-B telemetry with live weather models (Open-Meteo). It allows me to calculate missing parameters: True Airspeed (TAS), Indicated Airspeed (IAS), Mach Number, and Wind Speed/Direction:

2. Synthetic Attitude System & Physics Engine
Since ADS-B data typically lacks gyroscope information (Pitch/Roll), I developed a Synthetic Attitude Engine.
- Physics-Based Roll: I calculate the bank angle based on the rate of turn and centrifugal force physics (Coordinated Turn model).
- Synthetic Pitch: I estimate the nose attitude based on Vertical Speed (VSI) and Angle of Attack biases.
- Result: The Artificial Horizon responds realistically to aircraft maneuvers in real-time.

3. 60Hz Time-Based Interpolation
To support the vGlassCockpit, I have completely rewritten the rendering pipeline.
- I implemented a Time-Based Buffer algorithm to bridge the gap between low-frequency ADS-B updates (0.5-2Hz).
- The UI now renders fluid movement at 60 frames per second, eliminating the "jumping" effect associated with raw radar data.
4. External 3D View (Work in Progress)
The final piece of the puzzle, currently in active development.
- I am working on integrating CesiumJS to render a panoramic 3D window located below the cockpit instruments.
- Goal: To achieve photorealistic terrain rendering that provides true pilot perspective.
- The camera will be synchronized with my Synthetic Attitude System, simulating a pilot’s head movement during banks and turns.
🔓 Access & Monetization Update
Premium/Patron Plans Status: ON HOLD
I have decided to suspend the rollout of paid "Patron" tiers.
Reasoning:
While the technical implementation of payments is ready, I am currently facing challenges regarding the legal and tax compliance required to sell digital services globally. As a solo developer, navigating the complexities of international consumer law and tax regulations is a significant hurdle that I have not yet resolved. I prefer to keep the service free rather than risk legal non-compliance.
Access Policy for Q1 2026
- vGlassCockpit (Preview): Similar to the Playback feature, the Virtual Glass Cockpit will be available in Public Preview for ALL users. I need your feedback to fine-tune the physics engine.
- Playback Function: Remains available for all users.
- Feeders: Users feeding data to the network retain their existing Premium status and priority access to experimental layers (e.g., advanced weather overlays).
📝 Developer Notes
"Calculating Indicated Airspeed (IAS) and bank angles from simple GPS positions was considered a massive engineering hurdle. However, with the right approach and AI support, I solved it. By reverse-engineering atmospheric conditions and flight physics, RadarView now provides a 'Virtual Sensor' suite that rivals desktop simulators. This update is my personal tribute to aviation physics."
