16 Jul 2025 - Q3 Update: Devlog

Upcoming Q3 RadarView update

The upcoming update will contain brand new features, not only for my beloved Feeders, Testers and future Patrons! This update will not be as big as Q2 Update, but will bring cool new features that you will love, I'm sure. So, I was teasing you a bit about...weather.. now playback... So it's time to reveal some more facts about upcoming update!

But first... Nah, whatever, Let's not derail this. JUST ONCE!

Let's talk about this update

This update will bring at least one cool feature that you will love!

Feat no 1: Playback!

No, I'm not gonna sing, I don't want to be responsible for loose of hearing... But this time, instead of words, let me show you a screenshot! image.png

Yep, this is a playback. Setting this up required me to perform several changes in the database and learn how to set this thing up with timescaledb. To guarantee a good performance, playback is using PostgreSQL with timescaledb extension. It just works, with some automations! You may think what does "All history - by plane" button make. Currently it does not work as expected, but in my

Feat no 2: Weather

This thing is more than tricky to set up. As a hobby project, I don't wanna pay for this stuff and weather API is... expensive (as for hobby project). If I will find a cool way to get a free (or a really cheap!) weather API, I will use it...
